Multicolored Kimono Silk “Medium Claw”

This is a one-of-a-kind hand stitched silk lampshade in shades of cream, butter yellow, sapphire blue, sage green, and scarlet. It’s made with a vintage multicolored rinzu chirimen kimono silk, sapphire pleated silk chiffon layered over sage green silk charmeuse, scarlet diamond netting layered over butter yellow silk charmeuse, and scarlet geometric braided trim layered over cream silk charmeuse. It’s trimmed with gradient-dyed sage and cream rayon fringe, sage braid trim, and scarlet tassels.

This lampshade is made with a spider fitter and is appropriate for a medium to large table lamp or a floor lamp. It’s pictured here on a 33” tall antique table lamp. I recommend you use an LED with this lampshade to keep the silk in its best condition long-term. I use 40 watt equivalent warm white LED bulbs.
